How this site makes money
When you send a quote request, we pass it to licensed professionals working in this area, and we may be paid a fee for that introduction. You are never charged. That is the entire business model, and it is on every page of this site rather than buried here.
The obvious risk in that model is that the writing starts serving the referral instead of the reader. The protection against it is that this site makes its money from people who trust it, and the fastest way to lose that is to publish a number we cannot stand behind.
How we research what is here
- Rules come from the regulator, not from other websites. Setback tables, permit steps and statutory obligations are taken from the published rule or the authority's own documents, and the citation is shown next to them.
- Costs are ranges, and are labelled as estimates. No regulator publishes installed prices and we do not pretend to know yours. A single average figure for a town is the thing that makes people feel lied to, so we do not print one.
- Where we are not sure, we leave it out. The site is built so that a fact which has not been verified does not render at all, rather than rendering as a guess. A missing sentence is better than a confident wrong one.
- We do not invent local detail. If a number could not be traced to a source for this specific county and state, it is not on the page.
What we will never claim to be
We are not licensed IOWDS contractors, we are not site evaluators, and we are not the Mississippi State Department of Health. Nothing here is professional advice about your property. Only somebody who has examined your soil can tell you what your lot will take, and that is deliberately the first thing every page on this site pushes you towards.
Corrections
If something here is wrong, tell us and we will fix it: quotes@hattiesburgseptic.com. Rules change, fees change, and a page that was right last year can be wrong now.
